Miami, FL (September 11, 2021) - One person died in a car accident that took place in Miami on Saturday, September 11th. The crash occurred just after 10:00 a.m. on Interstate 95 near State Road 836.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to a report from troopers, a box truck became disabled in the roadway. A Volkswagen that was traveling northbound on I-95 slammed into the disabled truck. The Volkswagen then hit a black Nissan sedan before coming to rest. The driver of the Volkswagen died at the accident scene. The box truck driver was standing outside the truck when the crash occurred. He suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Troopers continue to investigate at this time. There is no additional information available.
In 2019, there were more than 400,000 reported car accidents in Florida. These accidents occur every day at all times of the day. Drivers should always use the utmost care and caution when traveling in order to reduce their risk of being injured in an accident.
