Miami, FL (July 17, 2021) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place on the Florida Turnpike on Saturday, July 17th. The accident happened in the southbound lanes near Quail Roost Drive.
According to police, a man was driving a gray Mercedes when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete barrier. As the man exited his vehicle, he was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer. The man, who was not identified, was killed as a result of the collision.
The crash caused a shutdown of the southbound lanes while police investigated the collision. Motorists were diverted to an alternate route of travel while police worked at the scene.
