Miami, FL (October 4, 2018) - Police in Miami are investigating after a hit-and-run crash left a man with critical injuries. The crash happened on Sunday, September 30th on State Road 9, near Northwest 22nd Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was checking on his car that had broken down on the side of the roadway. While the victim was out of his vehicle, he was struck by a burgundy Ford F-150 pickup truck. The man, who has not been identified, was left with serious injuries from the crash and is currently on life support. The pickup truck fled the scene before police could arrive.

All drivers involved in injury accidents are required by law to remain at the scene of the crash. The motorist in this case failed to do so. Although it is not clear why this crash occurred, police will conduct a full investigation into the accident and the surrounding circumstances. When the driver is apprehended they will likely be arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident.
