Middleburg, FL (April 10, 2021) - A 23-year-old woman was seriously hurt following a head-on crash in Middleburg on Friday night. The accident took place on County Road 218.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a silver GMC Yukon was traveling westbound on CR 218 when the driver crossed the center line and traveled into the eastbound lanes. While in the eastbound lanes, the GMC collided head-on with a red Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma was driven by a 23-year-old woman from Middleburg. The woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to Orange Park Medical Center for treatment. The GMC driver fled the scene after the accident.
Detectives are currently searching for the driver. There is no further information available at this time.
