Mims, FL (November 24, 2019) - Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash that took place in Mims on Sunday, November 23rd. The crash happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 5100 block of US 1.
According to reports, a motorcycle was traveling northbound on US 1 when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control. The bike flipped and ejected both the driver and a passenger. Both riders suffered severe injuries. When rescue workers arrived on the scene they attempted life-saving measures. Ultimately, however, the motorcyclists succumbed to their injuries. The victims have only been identified as a 72-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman. The crash caused a temporary closure of the affected lanes while the police were on the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. No additional details are available.
