Two people lost their lives in a Naples elevator collapse when an elevator suddenly fell 70 feet on Wednesday. Two construction workers were standing on a lift outside the elevator at the time when the lift suddenly dropped. Both workers were instantly killed.
A contractor confirmed that these lifts are used when workers are working on a building, typically during projects like windows, railings, and more. These accidents are rare, but not unheard of.
OSHA was called to the scene to investigate.
