New Port Richey, FL (April 12, 2021) - A man from Brooksville died and another was seriously hurt following a crash on State Road 54 in New Port Richey. The collision was reported around 2:30 p.m. along State Road 54 near the intersection with Old Mill Pond Drive.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 34-year-old Brooksville man was traveling westbound in a pickup truck on SR 54. As he approached Old Mill Pond, the truck crossed the centerline and entered the path of a second truck operated by a 67-year-old man from Trinity. The two vehicles collided with one another and both came to rest in the eastbound lanes of SR 54. The Brooksville man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene while the man from Trinity was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Neither of the victims was identified.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.
