Newberry, FL (November 29, 2019) - Two people were killed in a crash that took place on State Road 26 in Newberry. The crash was reported on Thursday, November 28th.
The High Springs Fire Department responded to the crash scene, along with the Florida Highway Patrol. According to reports, 19-year-old Garrett Crosswhite was driving on SR 26 when he lost control of his vehicle. The car left the roadway and collided with a tree. Rescue workers extricated Crosswhite and his passenger, C. Castlen-Demurias, 20, from the vehicle. Crosswhite was pronounced dead at the scene while Castlen-Demurias later died at Shands Hospital.
The cause of the accident has not been released. No other vehicles were involved.
