North Port, FL (January 2, 2020) - A 17-year-old boy was killed in a crash involving a stolen vehicle in North Port. The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Yorkshire Street and Cassava Road.
According to reports, four juveniles were riding in a stolen white Honda. The driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree, killing one of the occupants. According to police, there were four juveniles in the car, ages 13 to 17. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released at this time.
The crash is under investigation at this time. No further details are available.
We are saddened to hear of this tragic crash in North Port. Fatal accidents take place in Florida about once every three hours. It appears as though driver negligence caused this fatal accident to occur. In many deadly crashes, innocent victims are killed due to the negligence of another motorist. Police will continue to investigate the cause of this accident.
