Northwest Miami-Dade, FL (May 29, 2020) - A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash that took place in Northwest Miami-Dade. The crash was reported just after 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29th.
The Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue responded to the scene near Northwest Eighth Avenue. According to reports, the victim was riding an ATV when he was hit by a black SUV. Responding authorities pronounced the unidentified ATV driver dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV fled before police could arrive.
The crash is still under investigation and no further information is available.
Hit-and-run crashes are extremely common in Florida and account for about 25% of all recorded traffic collisions that take place in our state.
