Northwest Miami-Dade, FL (December 4, 2018) - A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper is recovering after crashing into a parked truck on State Road 826. The crash happened Monday morning, December fourth.
According to reports, Trooper Marcos Varon was traveling on SR 826 near Northwest 74th Street when he collided with a parked pickup truck. Trooper Varon was driving through a construction work zone at the time of the collision. After the crash, his car rolled several times before coming to a rest. The patrol car and pickup truck both sustained heavy damage. Varon was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening.
At this time, police do not know why the crash occurred and an investigation is ongoing.
