Oakland Park, FL (August 18, 2021) - A woman was killed in a crash that took place on Tuesday in Oakland Park. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Oakland Park Boulevard near Powerline Road.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Eleisha Joseph was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on Oakland Park Boulevard. At the same time, a 2021 Kia Forte was traveling eastbound. The Forte tried to make a U-turn near the intersection when it was struck by Joseph's vehicle. A passenger in the Forte died in the crash while four others were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
A crash investigation is underway at this time. No further information is available.
