Ocala, FL (January 8, 2019) - A police officer in Ocala suffered injuries after a two-car crash on Sunday, January 6th. The crash took place around 9:30 pm at the intersection of Southwest 27th Avenue and Southwest 20th Street.
According to reports, 21-year-old Victor Luis Hernandez Bohorquez was traveling northbound on 27th Avenue when he turned left onto 20th Street. Bohorquez then turned in front of a police cruiser driven by Officer Rebecca Letson of the Ocala Police Department. Bohorquez's vehicle collided with Letson's vehicle as Letson was traveling southbound on 27th Avenue.
Officer Letson suffered neck and wrist injuries and was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Bohorquez was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn.
