Ocala, FL (September 9, 2019) - A 53-year-old woman from Ocala was killed and another person suffered serious injuries in a wrong-way crash in Ocala on Monday, September 9th. The crash happened around 6:35 a.m. on County Road 314 near Northeast 120 Terrace.
Christina Riley Sheets was traveling northbound on CR 314. For unknown reasons, Sheets left her lane of travel and began traveling the wrong direction. She then collided with the front left side of a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt that was traveling northbound. Sheets died at the crash scene. The driver of the Cobalt, 27-year-old Silvestre Mendoza, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the reason for the crash. No further details are available.
