Odessa, FL (May 12, 2021) - A 50-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding in Odessa on Tuesday night. The crash took place near the Pinellas Trail.
According to a report, Janine Dorsey was riding a bike on the bike trail when she was hit by an SUV. Police say that Dorsey was riding her bike on a bike trail when her bicycle was hit from behind by a Ford Escape. Dorsey and Peter Yore, who were riding a tandem bicycle, were both struck by the car. Dorsey suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene. Yore was hurt and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the SUV was later identified as a 33-year-old man from Odessa. Blood test results are pending.
