Old Town, FL (August 20, 2021) - Police in Old Town responded to a fatal car accident on Friday afternoon. The crash took place on U.S. Highway 19 near Southeast Highway 317 around 3:00 p.m.
According to a report from police, there were three to four cars involved in the accident near the intersection. Both lanes of the highway were closed following the collision and one person was confirmed dead. The cause of the crash and the victim's identity are not known at this time. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible. There were no other reported injuries.
An investigation is underway. No further details are available.
