Orange County, FL (January 9, 2021) - A 55-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash that took place on Friday night in Orange County. The accident took place on Hiawassee Road near Coral Cove.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was crossing Hiawassee when he was hit by a 2007-2009 silver Ford Fusion. The driver of the Fusion fled the scene following the crash and before authorities could arrive. The pedestrian died at a local hospital shortly after the crash. Police are searching for the driver of the Fusion at this time. It is believed that the car has heavy damage to its front end.
