Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable accident victims in our state. According to statistics, about 75% of all Florida pedestrian accidents will result in a trip to the emergency room for the injured crash victim. About 25% of all pedestrian crash victims will be seriously hurt and will require extensive medical treatment. Sadly, more than 500 people were killed in pedestrian accidents in Florida last year. Pedestrian crash victims are hurt or killed at a much higher rate than victims of other types of crashes.
We would like to offer our most sincere condolences to the victim's family in the aftermath of this pedestrian crash in Orange County.
