Orlando, FL (January 9, 2020) - Two women lost their lives and two others were hurt following a crash that took place in Orlando on Thursday, January 9th. The crash was reported around 2:40 a.m. on Colonial Drive.
The Orlando Police Department responded to the scene of the crash involving a Volkswagen Jetta and a Ford F-150. According to Sgt. David Baker, the F-150 was driving erratically when it crashed into the Jetta. The two deceased victims were in the Jetta at the time of the crash. The Jetta driver and another passenger were transported to the hospital where they were listed in stable condition. None of the crash victims were identified.
The truck driver fled the scene but was later captured. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
According to statistics, a fatal crash is reported in Florida approximately once every three hours. Deadly accidents frequently take place as a result of the actions of negligent drivers. Unfortunately, as we see in this crash, a negligent driver can claim innocent lives in a matter of seconds. Police will continue to investigate the cause of this accident.
