Orlando, FL (August 9, 2019) – A 23-year-old man from Orlando died after his car was hit by a dump truck on Friday, August 9th. The crash happened at the intersection of Bachman and Thorpe Roads around 5:00 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the victim was driving a 1998 two-door Nissan westbound on Thorpe, approaching the intersection with Bachman. As he neared the intersection, his car collided with the dump truck. The Nissan driver, who has not been identified, died at the crash scene. The driver of the dump truck, a 55-year-old man from Kissimmee, was not injured in the crash.
Police are currently investigating to determine if the dump truck driver may have run a stop sign prior to the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
