Motorcycles are a dangerous and deadly mode of transportation. Motorcycles account for approximately 15% of all traffic fatalities, despite making up less than 5% of all registered motor vehicles on Florida's streets and highways. The design of a motorcycle offers comparatively little protection in the event of a serious crash. Motorcycle riders often face death or serious injury when they are involved in any type of crash with a larger vehicle.
