Orlando, FL (July 9, 2021) - An ambulance and a Kia sedan were involved in a deadly crash in Orlando early Friday morning. The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. on Edgewater Drive near the intersection with West Smith Street.
According to the Orlando Fire Department, the Kia struck the driver's side of the ambulance as the two vehicles entered the intersection. The ambulance then struck an electrical pole and crashed into an art studio before coming to rest. A passenger in the Kia died at the scene. The passenger was later identified as 24-year-old Kameron J. Payne, from Apopka. The Kia driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. There were no injuries reported from the occupants of the ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed. No additional details have been released.
