Orlando, FL (September 1, 2020) - An officer with the Orlando Police Department sustained injuries after an accident on Kirkman Road. The crash happened on Tuesday, September 1st near the intersection with Major Boulevard.
According to reports from the accident scene, the officer was responding to a call with his patrol lights and siren activated when he attempted to make a left turn from Kirkman onto Major Boulevard. As the officer turned, he struck another vehicle. The officer's car suffered heavy damage to the right passenger side. Rescue workers arrived on the scene and transported the officer to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene but was not transported.
There is no word on whether any charges are expected at this time. No further details have been released.
