Osceola County, FL (November 28, 2019) - A crash on US 192 left two people dead in Osceola County on Wednesday, November 27th. The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. near Alligator Lake.
According to Lt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol, a 75-year-old woman was traveling eastbound on US 192 in a four-door Ford. The woman attempted to make a left turn onto Old Melbourne Highway. The woman turned in front of a westbound Ford van and the two vehicles collided with one another. The crash resulted in the death of both the 75-year-old driver as well as a 74-year-old man who was also in the same vehicle. The driver of the Ford van was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
The crash caused the road to be closed for several hours while troopers were at the scene. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
We are saddened to hear of this tragic crash in Osceola County.
Fatal accidents occur in Florida approximately once every three hours. Police will continue to investigate this crash and will determine the cause and contributing factors.
