Osceola County, FL (January 7, 2019) - Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol are looking into a pedestrian crash that took place on Sunday, January 6th.
52-year-old Dorothy Brown was attempting to cross Pleasant Hill Road near Sun Cove Drive. As she was walking across the road, she was struck by a Toyota driven by 19-year-old Luis Rivera. Brown was not in a crosswalk or intersection when she was struck. She suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead.
Troopers are still investigating that crash and there is no word at this time on whether Rivera will face any charges.
We are saddened to hear of this pedestrian fatality in Plant City. Approximately two pedestrians die in crashes each day across our state.
