Osceola County, FL (October 5, 2018) - A man died after colliding with a vehicle driven by an Osceola County Sheriff's Deputy. The crash took place on Friday, October 5th around 8:15 am.
According to initial reports, 34-year-old Robert Johnston was driving a 2013 Ford pickup truck on Highway 192 near Lindfields Boulevard. At the same time, Osceola County Deputy Gloria Boccio was traveling east and approached the intersection where Johnston was stopped for a red light. Deputy Boccio failed to stop her vehicle and crashed into the rear of Johnston's truck. The forced caused the truck to crash into two other cars.
Johnston was transported via EMS to Osceola Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Boccio sustained minor injuries only. The drivers of the other two cars involved were not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
