Osceola County, FL (July 6, 2021) - Three people lost their lives in a crash that took place in Osceola County on Sunday night. The accident was reported on County Road 523 around 10:15 p.m.
According to a report from the scene, a 65-year-old was driving a 2018 Toyota Rav4 southbound in the northbound lanes of CR 523 when the Toyota collided head-on with a northbound Chevy pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old. The drivers of both vehicles were killed in the crash, along with a 14-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Chevy. The crash remains under investigation at this time. There is no word on what caused the truck to cross the centerline.
An investigation is ongoing.
Fatal car accidents in Florida happen about once every three hours. Sadly, more than 3,000 people were killed in Florida car accidents in 2019. A substantial number of these victims were killed due to the actions of negligent drivers. Police will continue to investigate this collision to determine the cause.
