Palm Beach County, FL (December 30, 2018) - A dirt bike rider was pronounced dead from his injuries following a crash near Palm Springs on Friday, December 28th.
Police say that 23-year-old Juan S. Salazar was riding eastbound on Melaleuca Lane on a Suzuki dirt bike. The dirt bike was not equipped with lights or mirrors and was not considered street-legal, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. As Salazar was proceeding eastbound, a Jeep was turning westbound in front of him. Salazar's bike collided with the rear end of the Jeep, causing Salazar to be ejected and thrown onto the Jeep. Salazar was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The Jeep driver has not been identified and there is currently no further information available.
