Palm Beach Gardens, FL (July 14, 2021) - A 53-year-old woman from West Palm Beach died after being hit by a vehicle on the Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens. The crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes near PGA Boulevard.
According to reports from the scene, a 34-year-old man was operating an SUV when he struck the woman, who was standing on the outside shoulder of the roadway. The woman, who was not identified, was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The SUV driver was seriously injured after he struck the back of a pickup truck after hitting the woman.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No further information is available.
