Over half of all bicycle accidents in Florida are caused when either the bicycle rider or motorist fails to yield the right of way. Between 2007 and 2011 36% of crashes took place when motorists failed to yield to a bicyclist. The cause of this accident will be thoroughly investigated by police in order to determine how the bicyclist was struck.
