At the time of the accident, Tomas-Sabastian crossed the centerline and ran straight into an oncoming vehicle. He died at the scene. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, which could have led to his serious injuries.
The two people in the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
