Pinellas County, FL (September 4, 2021) - Two people died when a car crashed into a house in Pinellas County on Friday night. The collision took place on Manning Road.
Police say that a driver was operating a Tesla at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes. The vehicle went through an intersection without stopping. The driver lost control and the car traveled into a yard before crashing into a house. A 69-year-old woman was inside the house at the time of the accident. She died as a result of her injuries. A passenger in the Tesla was also killed. Neither of the two victims have been identified. There is no word on any other injuries at this time.
No further information is available. An investigation remains ongoing.
Car accidents in Pinellas County can result in catastrophic and life-altering consequences. According to statistics, more than 3,000 people died due to Florida car accidents in 2019. Nearly all of these fatal crashes were caused by at least one negligent driver. Police will continue to investigate this accident.
