Plant City, FL (July 18, 2021) - An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Polk County on Friday. The accident happened just after 10:00 p.m. on State Road 60 near Espo Drive.
According to police, Brock Case was driving a 1995 Dodge truck in the westbound lanes of SR 60 when he hit a 48-year-old man from Tampa who was walking in the roadway. Case initially fled the scene of the accident. The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene from his injuries. Case later turned himself into police around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
