Plant City, FL (August 30, 2019) - A woman from Plant City who died in a pedestrian crash this week has been identified by police. The crash took place on Wednesday, August 28th along Interstate 4.
Officers say that 29-year-old Zenaida Edith Lucena was walking eastbound near milepost 13 and standing near a light-colored sedan. As she walked away from the sedan, she attempted to cross the highway. As she was crossing, Lucena was hit by a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. Lucena suffered critical injuries and died at the scene of the collision. The driver of the Ram was not identified and it is not believed that anyone else was injured in the accident.
Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at (813) 558-1800.
