Plantation, FL (March 22, 2021) - Two people are dead and another injured after a crash in Plantation on Monday morning. The collision happened in the 4300 block of West Sunrise Boulevard.
According to police, a sedan was traveling eastbound on Sunrise when the driver attempted to make a turn on 43rd Avenue. An SUV, traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed into the sedan. The sedan was split in two as a result of the impact. Two occupants of the sedan were killed as a result of the collision. A third person suffered serious injuries but it is not clear if that person was in the sedan or the SUV. The identities of the victims are not available at this time.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. There have been no charges filed at this time.
Deadly car accidents take place in Florida about once every three hours.
