Pompano Beach, FL (June 3, 2021) - A man working on the road was killed after he was hit by a car in Pompano Beach on Thursday. The crash took place on Interstate 95 in the southbound lanes of the roadway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old man from Belle Glade was working in the southbound lanes of the roadway when a car veered out of its lane and struck him. The man died at the crash scene. The driver fled the scene and was later located by police. He was identified as 32-year-old Victor Ocampo. Ocampo was charged with vehicular homicide, failure to stop, driving with a suspended license, and reckless driving. There were no additional injuries reported.
