Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (October 6, 2019) - A 19-year-old woman died and a second person sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash that took place on State Road A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach. The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, October 4th.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to reports of the crash. When troopers arrived on scene they found a single-car crash. Investigators say that a Nissan was traveling northbound on A1A near Corona Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car then left the road and collided with a tree, killing the driver. A passenger in the Nissan, 19-year-old Jensy Ramos Vigil, was rushed to Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash. It is believed that speed may have played a role. No additional details are available.
