Port Richey, FL (March 14, 2019) - A 94-year-old man on a motorized scooter died after he was struck by a vehicle on Little Road, near Fox Hollow Drive on Thursday, March 14th.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Nicholas Sacripante was riding the scooter across Little Road when he was struck by a car driven by a 21-year-old woman. Sacripante suffered catastrophic injuries and died at the scene of the crash. The woman remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police have not released her identity at this time.
There was no immediate word on whether any charges are expected. No additional details were released.
A reportable crash occurs approximately every 92 seconds in Florida. Many crashes are caused by drivers who fail to follow traffic laws.
