Port St. Lucie, FL (March 14, 2021) - Four people died in a car accident that took place early Sunday in Port St. Lucie. The collision happened around 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 95 near Gatlin Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van stopped in the roadway for unknown reasons between the right and center lanes. A pickup truck traveling behind the van crashed into the side of the vehicle. Finally, a tractor-trailer came from behind and crashed into both vehicles. All three occupants of the van were killed in the crash, along with a 43-year-old man from Port St. Lucie who was driving the pickup truck. Troopers have not provided the names of those killed in the crash. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
