Punta Gorda, FL (June 14, 2019) - A woman is dead following a crash early this morning. The crash took place at 27700 Zemel Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the scene after midnight Thursday. Initial reports indicate that a 26-year-old woman was involved in the crash although her role is unclear. The woman unfortunately suffered catastrophic injuries and has been pronounced dead by authorities. Her name has not been released to the public at this time. An investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing and police have not said whether anyone else was injured.
