Putnam County, FL (June 25, 2021) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly accident in Putnam County on Friday morning. The crash happened around 6:00 a.m. on State Road 20 near the intersection with Osceola Street.
According to a report, a sedan was traveling eastbound on SR 28 when the 38-year-old male driver lost control of the vehicle. The car then veered off the roadway where it struck a tree before catching fire. A 32-year-old female passenger in the vehicle died at the crash scene. The driver suffered serious injuries. The accident caused all lanes in the area to be blocked while police investigated the incident. The victims have not been identified at this time and the cause of the crash is unknown.
