A two-car crash took place in Satsuma last Friday evening, which led to the death of one and injuries in three others. The accident took place when 80-year-old Gary Paul Rummel was heading south on County Road 309 and crossed the center line. He hit a Dodge Challenger going northbound in traffic.
A passenger in the vehicle, 55-year-old Robert Elliott, died at the scene. A three-year-old toddler named Dominique Kemp was also injured and taken to Shands UF Gainesville Pediatric Unit with critical injuries. Rummel and the other driver, 33-year-old Heather Ann Tinsley, was also injured and taken to hospitals with serious injuries.
Charges are now pending in the case.
