Seminole County, FL (September 26, 2019) - The driver of a FedEx truck was killed in a head-on crash that took place on Snow Hill Road near the intersection with Winding River Lane. The crash took place around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 26th.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old man from Deltona was driving a Chevy pickup truck northbound on Snow Hill when the vehicle veered into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons. While in the southbound lanes, the Chevy collided with a FedEx truck. The FedEx driver, 40-year-old Ricardo Bustamante, suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead at Oviedo Medical Center. The driver of the pickup also suffered critical injuries and was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time.
Our condolences go out to the family of the driver killed in this head-on crash.
Head-on collisions are a frequent cause of some of the most serious crashes on Florida's streets and highways. A driver in a head-on crash has typically lost control of their vehicle for one reason or another. In many head-on collisions, both cars are still traveling at full speed upon impact, thus leading to catastrophic results.
