Southwest Ranches, FL (July 9, 2018) – In Southwest Ranches, two trauma alerts stemmed from a serious accident involving a vehicle and horses. Two people received serious injuries in the accident.
The accident took place when a vehicle ran into horses that two people were riding on at the time. The accident took place Sunday afternoon on Griffin Road. It happened in Southwest Ranches. The two people who were identified in the accident were an adult female and a juvenile female.
The accident happened when the two were crossing the road on horses and a white pickup truck suddenly came along, striking them. The adult was immediately airlifted to the Memorial Regional Hospital and the child was taken by ambulance to the same hospital. They were listed as two trauma alerts, both of which had life-threatening injuries.
They are currently both listed in serious condition but they are expected to survive. However, both horses were killed in the crash.
At this time, there has been no word on whether or not the truck driver would face any charges in the accident. It is still under investigation at this time.
