St. Augustine, FL (January 13, 2019) - An 87-year-old pedestrian was tragically killed after being struck by a car on Saturday, January 12th in St. Augustine.
Police report that Alwin Hoffman was standing in a lane along State Road 16 and Fortier Road near the Outlet Mall when the collision took place. Hoffman was outside of his vehicle as he had just been involved in a minor traffic crash nearby. For reasons unknown, he had walked away from his vehicle and was standing int he eastbound lanes of SR 16 just before he was struck.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 26-year-old Autumn Kinser. Kinser was traveling eastbound when she struck Hoffman.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and no further information is currently available.
