St. Lucie County, FL (May 3, 2021) - A 52-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash that took place on Sunday in St. Lucie County. The accident occurred along U.S. Highway 1 near Tropical Isles Way.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a sedan southbound on U.S. 1 when she came to the intersection with Tropical Isles Way. At the intersection, a van pulled in front of her, causing her car to strike a concrete pole. The woman, who was not identified, died at the accident scene. A passenger in her vehicle was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the van, identified as an 85-year-old man from Clarksboro, NJ, was treated for minor injuries.
An accident investigation is ongoing. No additional details are available.
