Fatal accidents are reported in Florida approximately every three hours. There are many fatal crashes involving pedestrians as Florida routinely ranks near the top of national statistics involving pedestrian-related injuries and deaths. When a pedestrian crash takes place several factors must be examined. Police will look at whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or marked area, whether the driver was impaired or distracted and whether the driver or the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way before the crash. Ultimately, if the driver was negligent in causing the death of a pedestrian then the driver can be held legally responsible for their actions.
If you have been injured in a pedestrian crash in which you were not at fault you should never walk away from the incident without seeking legal assistance. A Florida pedestrian accident attorney can protect your legal rights and help you obtain compensation in the aftermath of a serious crash.
