Sumter County, FL (December 1, 2019) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-car accident in Sumter County on Saturday, November 30th. The crash was reported in the northbound lanes of I-75.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a driver was traveling on I-75 when they swerved to avoid crashing into another vehicle. After swerving, the vehicle lost control, rotating and collided with the left side of a second vehicle. The first vehicle then rolled over several times before coming to rest. The second vehicle ended up on the shoulder of the roadway. Rescue workers took one woman to the hospital with serious injuries. It is unclear in which vehicle the woman was riding. A boy was also transported with minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
