Suwannee County, FL (October 1, 2019) - One person was killed in a chain-reaction crash on I-10 on Monday, September 30th. The crash took place around 5:20 p.m. near mile marker 280.
Reports indicate that 26-year-old Teresa Evans was driving a 2018 Hyundai Accent eastbound when she failed to slow for traffic that was stopped in front of her. Evans then collided with a 2012 Buick Lacrosse. The momentum from the initial crash propelled the Buick forward into an SUV. The SUV then struck a fourth vehicle. The Buick passenger, 74-year-old Frances Filomio of Fort White, FL was taken to UF Health Shands where she later succumbed to her injuries. Evans also suffered serious injuries and was taken to UF Health Shands. No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
