Tampa, FL (November 18, 2019) - Four students suffered injuries in a crash that took place in Tampa on Monday, November 18th. According to the Tampa Police Department, the crash occurred around 12:05 pm on Florida Avenue.
Police report that a 1999 Acura carrying the students attempted to make a left turn onto N Florida Avenue from West Ida Street. The Acura driver failed to see a 2007 Chevy pickup traveling northbound on Florida. The Chevrolet swerved to avoid a crash but struck a 2008 Nissan van that was also traveling northbound. The Nissan then swerved onto the sidewalk where it struck four students who were waiting for a public transit bus. The students, ages 18 to 19, all suffered non-life-threatening injuries including lacerations and road rash.
The Acura driver was cited for careless driving. No further details have been released at this time.
